Week of February 12

💟This week, we will make some Valentines to spread kindness here at SATEC and in the community.

Please keep in mind the following dates:
next week, Feb.19-23, is Spirit Week
   Monday: celebrate America
   Tuesday: Twin
   Wednesday: Wacky Hair/Clothes
   Thursday: Learning Community theme (TBD)
   Friday: wear blue (we are paired with 1st grade)

Vacation: Begins on Saturday, February 24 and goes until the day after Town Meeting Day.  Return to school Wednesday, March 7.

March 15: SBAC practice test in Language Arts

March 20: 3rd scheduled trip to Jay Peak

March 22: our learning community is going to see the Vermont Youth Orchestra at the Flynn Theater in Burlington (permission forms have not gone out yet).

Week of January 29

Important Dates coming up:

January 30 and 31: students in our learning community will take an i-Ready math test; it will be broken into 2 sessions, one each day for 45 minutes.

Wednesday, January 31: we welcome guests from the Flynn Theater to talk with students about the field trip we have in March to see the Vermont Youth Orchestra and Vermont Symphony Orchestra

Friday, February 2: report cards should be going home with students

March 20: 3rd Jay Peak Trip

Recent book report work during enrichments - learning how to describe the setting in a story: these students decided to do "edible arrangements" that showed where major events took place!  Candy has never been so educational!

The band students did a fantastic job at their premier recently.  Here are a few photos of how they were dealing with their nerves before the concert began!

Week of November 27

We hope you had a pleasant and safe Thanksgiving!

Some important dates are coming up:

Our first Jay Peak trip is scheduled for Tuesday, December 12.  We expect forms to go home later this week.

SATEC grades 5-8 are doing a canned/boxed food drive until December 7.  Items may be brought in any day until that deadline -- thank you for helping our community by sending in something non-perishable! 

Week of November 6

Thank you to all the families who came in for conferences!  If you were unable to come in, progress reviews should be going home (in the mail or with students) this coming Friday.

Happy early Veterans' Day!  In case there might be any confusion, we are in school this Friday.  

Week of October 23

Welcome back to school -- we hope you had a great long weekend!

Below are a couple of photos from the recent 5th/6th grade local level spelling bee at City School.  SATEC's team won and will move on to the regional level competition this coming Saturday morning here at SATEC!!  

Week of October 16 -- a Short Week!

Greetings!  Please note that this is a short school week -- there is no school for students on Thursday or Friday (10/19 and 10/20).

On Wednesday, October 18, students will have hearing and vision testing.

Also, as of Tuesday, October 17, the Pick A Time scheduling tool will be open for selecting a time for parent-teacher conferences.
