Week of January 18

Please complete and return the Jay Peak forms as soon as possible. They are needed by January 20.  As of Wednesday, January 18, we have only about half of the students' forms handed in.  Students whose paperwork is not submitted will not be able to go on the trip.

Also, students should be bringing home a yellow paper and a green paper with information to share.

  • The yellow paper has information about school expectations and important dates coming up.

  • The green paper has information about a service project we would like the students to work on, and somewhat lead, over the next month; the focus is on sending care packages to deployed members of the Vermont National Guard.

The Weekly Assignments tab has been updated with homework for this week.

Week of January 9

Please complete and return the Jay Peak forms as soon as possible. They are needed by January 20.

Make sure your student is dressed warmly for recess -- though they don't have to be as warm as we were in this photo from before vacation!

Important dates coming up:
January 26 -- 1st Jay Peak trip for 6th grade
January 16 and 17 -- school is closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and an in-service day
January 10 and 12 -- students in our learning community are going to have practice SBAC tests during their morning classes.

Before vacation, a student tested his "toothpick and dried out marshmallow" structure to see how much mass it could hold.  This winning structure held over 20 books before it was absolutely crushed into very tiny pieces!

Happy New Year!  Paperwork for the Jay Peak trips was handed out on Tuesday, January 3.

Please have all forms handed back in by January 20 to get ready for our first trip (which will be on January 26).

If you are interested in being a chaperone, a current background check needs to be on file with the school.

Week of November 7, 2016

On a rainy day, students enjoyed themselves in many ways inside during a "Full PAWS Bucket" celebration!

Each paper on this bulletin board represents a book that students have read this school year -- in about TWO MONTHS!

Below are some examples of students' work in Math Enrichment with Mrs. Montagne.  This is called a tessellation project.  Here's a short Youtube link to a tessellation demonstration:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxwY5VQR0LM
