Week of February 8

New homework assignments have been posted.

This Friday, students should be bringing home their report cards.

Next week, we go to the Flynn to see a production of The Giver.  Most students have turned in their permission forms by now; we will return to school before lunch time.

Week of February 1

Students have received new forms for the next Jay Peak trip.  We would like the forms returned, completed, as soon as possible, with a deadline of February 17.

February 17 also is the day when our learning community has a field trip to the Flynn to see a stage production of the book The Giver.  We will leave after morning announcements, and we should be back by lunchtime that day.

For the first week of February, our learning community has the MAP tests to look forward to.  This is the basic schedule:
Monday, February 1, 9:30 - 10:30 Language
Tuesday, February 2, 9:30 - 10:30 Math
Thursday, February 4, 9:30 - 10:30 Science

Week of January 25

We were pleased to welcome author Terry Lynn Johnson today.  The spoke with students about her experiences as a writer, musher, and game warden.  For more information, please see her web site:  http://www.terrylynnjohnson.com/ice-dogs.php

Students received Scholastic book orders today.  If you are interested, Ice Dogs may be found in one of the orders.  Book orders may be placed on-line (Mr. Murphy's code MF3BM) or by returning a book order with check made out to Scholastic.

Students will have a vocabulary test tomorrow (Friday) and should bring in a note or signature from home indicating that they studied for at least 10 minutes.  In Science, there will be a quiz on The Atmosphere.

Jay Peak was fantastic today!  We tried something new, or we improved a little bit, and that's a great day!

Thank you to all of our chaperons for helping watch our students, the nurse's office and the Abbey for providing supplies and lunches. Our next scheduled trip is Tuesday, March 8.  If you were not able to make this one, please try to attend the next trip!

Positive Behaviors School Celebration in the cafeteria on Friday 1/22/16: 

Our learning community will join the second graders for a shared dance time from 2:00-2:15. There will be a "black light" for added fun.

Students should wear white and/or clothing with white letters, or images. All neon and florescent colors work well too. It can be anything, shirts, pants, hair bands, accessories, shoes, socks, etc.
